Southern Hip-Hop, Miami Bass, Funk and Soul — Loud, Local and Legendary
The After-Set is a high-energy weekly music program celebrating classic Southern Hip-Hop, Miami Bass, Funk and Soul. Created, produced and hosted by DJ Powerlord, “The God of Bass,” along with The Disciples of Boom, the show delivers a raw, authentic mix of music, culture, interviews and personality rooted in Atlanta’s underground sound.
Since launching in 2018, The After-Set has built a loyal following by spotlighting the music and voices that helped shape Southern Hip-Hop culture. Unlike ordinary playlist-driven radio shows, The After-Set brings deep cuts, independent artists, live mixes, cultural conversation and real community energy to every broadcast.
With more than 300 episodes and syndication across dozens of stations and markets, The After-Set gives affiliates a distinctive weekend or specialty programming option with credibility, attitude and a sound that cuts through. It is built for stations that want something bold, rhythmic, nostalgic and genuinely connected to the streets, clubs and culture that made Southern Hip-Hop matter.
